Transdev is pleased to advise that all bus services will run as usual on its network tomorrow, as the Transport Workers’ Union (TWU) has called off industrial action set for Thursday 16 August 2018.
Late yesterday afternoon, Transdev and the TWU reached an in-principle agreement on the terms and conditions of employment for drivers this afternoon, resolving their dispute.
George Konstantopoulos, Transdev’s General Manager of Operations and Experience, said this was a great outcome for drivers and commuters.
“We are pleased the TWU came back to the bargaining table so we could continue negotiations and get our drivers will back on the road tomorrow,” he said.
“Reaching an in-principle agreement with the TWU also gives our customers certainty and confidence they can rely on our buses to get where they need to be. We thank them for their patience and understanding during this challenging time.”
Transdev operates 47 bus routes providing 4,000 timetable services across metropolitan Melbourne. More than 85,000 Melburnians catch a Transdev bus every day.
Buses will run according to the weekday timetable.
