Transdev has advised bus commuters to expect delays to services as a result of Melbourne’s forecast extreme wet weather conditions this weekend.
Heavy rain can cause flooding on our roads, increase traffic congestion significantly impacting bus services.
Public Transport Victoria (PTV) has advised when the bad weather arrives, to consider whether you are able to delay or defer non-essential travel.
If you do need to travel then plan ahead and check for service updates before departing.
Live travel updates are available through the PTV Website ptv.vic.gov.au, or download the free PTV mobile apps for Android and iOS.
If you see any problems on the public transport network, please report them through the PTV customer call centre on 1800 800 007 6am to midnight daily (all night Friday and Saturday).
Please be aware that the State Emergency Service advises people:
- Don't walk, ride or drive through flood water
- Keep clear of creeks and storm drains
- Be aware that in fire affected areas, rainfall run-off into waterways may contain debris such as ash, soil, trees and rocks
- Be alert that in areas recently affected by fires, heavy rainfall increases the potential for landslides and debris across roads
In an emergency call Triple Zero (000).
